Awesome weekend at the cottage.

Neighbours have some amazing snowmobiles that we are storing for them as their cottage is being built. 660cc TURBO's... They put out over 110HP. and weigh about 550 pounds.

I had melissa on the back of mine, (I was driving the 2-up, my dad was driving the sporty one) and at half throttle, the thing rips up to 8000RPM, and it was all I could do to keep my thumb on the throttle. in what felt like 2 seconds (maybe closer to 3 or 4... I went from 15MPH to over 60MPH. Insane. The thing left grooves in the ice from the ice studs tearing through. A buddy did the equivilant of a burnout and sprayed ice at us... It left over 150 yards of "grooves" from the track spinning faster than the thing was travelling. Its the equivalant of a 450 foot Burnout on a motorcycle or car!

Other than that, Weekend was awesome. Garage is almost built. needs a door, Heat, Power and water hookup, and drywall, and it'll be ready for my dad and I to start moving stuff from the cottage over to it. (My parents are bulldozing the cottage in April, to have it rebuilt by next year (2010)

Overall, a great weekend. Tonight... Going to veg. Clean. Make some KD. probably pack away the christmas decorations and move the couches back.

Windows 7 Beta leaked. I'm downloading now. Perhaps my Overclocking plans tonight will be on hold...

So far one plus: Windows 7 - 2.4gb. Vista... 4.5gb compressed.
Windows 7 estimated install time: 20-25 minutes. Vista isntall time: 45-50minutes
Windows 7 driver engine - Same as vista - 95% of vista/xp drivers will work with Windows 7 :-)

Windows 7 - Multi Threaded OS... Meaning Programs designed for single core should be able to utilize all cores. We'll see how that translates to performance! (does it also mean a program that hangs will result in a frozen computer?

Well, Thanks Melissa.H. I read your blog and felt inspried to write as well

So many things.

First, Being single, I find I'm into a spiraling vortex of Nerd. One thing leads into another.

I had a lot of spare time. WoW Kicks up. Andy invited me to a Games night. There ended up being a draft for Magic, the Gathering. THey taught me the rules again, and Now i'm in a little mini tournement. They also play settlers of Katan and Bang and Zombie Fluxx, as well as Various Xbox games.

Thankfully, I start something "cool" soon. Pool! I'm going to be in a league. Should be fun. Thats every wednesday. Badminton has been moved to monday as a result. Apparently the entire class has been bought out by Medela! It'll just be medela people! We flooded it the day the books opened, and filled every spot but one. This amuses me. I look forward to it.

Plus, there's no better stress relieve than Killing a birdy in an attemt to hit your friends when they're caught off gaurd. *puahahah*

So, as for my Dating escapades... I dated that russian a few months back, but it got SUPER heavy, Super fast. I mean... She cried when I told her I couldn't stay over...I felt bad, came in for af ew minutes... she had Pictures... Framed. of US. On her desk. On her WALL, on her desktop background. On her Cell phone. On Facebook.

I felt bad,(understatement) but I broke up with her on the phone the following day. I donno if you can even call it broke up, because I didn't realize we were steady to start with. I feel bad. I'm just... not ready for that intensity yet. Looking for something Light, Stable, no drama... FUN
*le sigh*

Now, Onto my next time killer. I need to kill time, because any time i'm not killing equates into me spending money. Money which I need to realize I DON'T have an abundance of.

I'm working on overclocking the shit out of my computer. for those of you that don't know... My computer blew up in a thunderstorm. Damn "surge protector" too bad it was a no-name. Serves me right. Sooo Both my 8800Gt's were fried, AND my motherboard.

I couldn't afford to replace them all, So i have a Asus P8Q mobo, which IMO, is kickass for the money. Dual Gig Lan, two bios, Good power phases, Solidly built caps. Overall its being a champ at overclocking.

HOWEVER, before this I recieved two DOA mobos... so in my frustration, I went back to stock cooler as its easier to install. Well... This one is working perfectly. and I have my E6750(stock 2.66GHZ) upt o 3.2ghz stable, 6 hours of Orthos stress test, not a single error.

Now, I've tweaked the ram, and am FAIRLY happy with the results. But I want more. I'm going to install my big cooler on it tonight if I'm free, and see what the temps are... If they drop by a good 10*C (I think they will) I';ll push for 3.3ghz... if they drop more than that... I'll hunt for 3.4... but I think that'll be the cap. Right now I'm just SLIGHTLY above stock voltage... We'll see How it fares. Hopefully, it doesn't go Boom.

Days are getting shorter. as is my exposure to light... so here comes winter drearyness. To combat... I'm going to try and keep myself as busy as possible.

It's been a while since i've been "alone" for a fall/winter. It will be weird.

Oddly enough... I go on the balcony... and its COLD! I can feel the heat pumping out of my apartment from the screen door... Then i Think... I don't have any heaters on!!! Turns out... my computer, as well as being an excellent time killer... also heats up my entire apartment. To test it out... I'm going to turn it off tonight and see how cold it gets.

I LOVE sleeping in a nice warm bed when the rest of the room is cold. It makes the bed so much more inviting... and i tend to get too warm under the sheets (let alone comforter) so it'll be nice to snuggle up to the big blankets tonight!

Friday night was a blast. I drove mel home to her house... then we went to a bar called 5 rivers? around 12:30 we decided to go to Zor... something. A sheesha? bar... Basically... favored tabacco. I don't smoke. I refuse pot... This was like... Flavored, super light smoke. I have asthma, and it didn't even upset it! It was just tastey/nice smelling. And very mild. I don't smell any on my clothes from the night at all. And tonight I had a good games night... 6 people over playing various card games (no poker though) and Lots of Wii (super smash brothers and Mario Kart!

I also have my new amp and sub installed... with 4 gage wiring all throughout. Its rediculously loud. I have it set to about 40% of maximum... and its still rattling parts of my car.... All out of a little 10 inch sub! Crazyness!

Dark Chocolate

So my buddy Simon and I decided to stop by the Lindt distribution centre on Kennedy road and Derry Road.... I wasn't planning on buying anything... but I have a very soft spot for Dark chocolate... so I figured... why not go all the way? I bought a 5 dollar chocolate bar that is 99% cocoa. LOVING dark chocolate... I broke off a square (1 inch by 1 inch by 2 mm thick and mow'ed down.

Well, I didn't like it. Immediately after chewing into it... I realised the error of my ways. It is not candy. its more like... A glass of Port. Not sweet in the slightest. It turned my stomach - Sensory overload. I'm going to save this for another day... perhaps to have with some coffee or wine.

Now, I also did buy a 70% cocoa bar, infused with Red Chili. Sounds like a weird combo... but I did give it a try... this time with a bit more restraint... Took a square of it... broke THAT in half... then let it melt on my tonge. Quite the change. Its much more sweet, and has an amazing bite on the back of your throat. It is... by far, the best chocolate I have ever tasted. And yes, I know lindt is a "mainstream" "candy" company, and really not all that good... but this isn't really the stuff you find in shoppers drug mart. I highly doubt I'd be able to finish half a chocolate bar without spewing... It'd be like chugging a bottle of expensive wine!

So yes... an entire post about chocolate.

Today I got a rather... colorful text from someone I never thought i'd hear from again. I'm sort of glad I did get it, Out of the blue, because it made me that much more sure that my previous actions were to, indeed, save my sanity.

For a few months now... I've noticed that... I get a faint smell of... Honey... After I sneeze. Yes... Honey.

So I finally decided to check if i'm going crazy, and googled the question (like anyone does!)

What happened to summer!?

Ok... two things almost everyone knows about me: First - I love shorts. Second... I love the cold.

The two don't go hand in hand. I love shorts, because I overheat. Quickly. Annoyingly. My hands are ALWAYS warm (unless sick or nervous)

But tonight... at the Mazda meet... Was just COLD. Where did my summer go? I feel like all it did was rain! I've only gotten up to the cottage once... I don't think i've even swam this year... a full year without swimming? Madness.

So, its pretty offical that my parents will be bulldozing the cottage next summer - They're hopefully going to have the garage/guest den good to go by spring next year, so they can stay in that while the cottage is being rebuilt. Its very exciting... but makes me sad! A lot of memory's in that crooked, noisy, drafty quirky cottage. I hope they keep it... Them. Like... I LIKE the old storm door going to the bathroom with the "caution, Biohazard" sign on it. I LIKE the fishlures used as pull cords on ceiling fans. And I like the alluring tree that people hang random fishlures they find while snorkling. Or "frank" the piece of driftwood that looks like a person. It all adds personality, and i'm hoping they capture that in the new place.

I must admit - I do feel a pang of depression, coming into the cold season. For some reason... My summer seems.... imcomplete. I know why, but there's not much I can do about it.

Today i had a pretty damn good game of golf. I mean... I didn't do STELLAR... but I scored quite good on my own record... and I didn't use anything but a 4 iron, 9, PW and SW. (and putter) No driver. I've been hitting so many slices, I just gave up on it. I'll have to hit the driving range to correct it. (hopefully)

I'm guessing i'll get a few more games in by the time the season is done.

I am excited about my new job. Sungard was great to me... but the job was just to easy. I guess I enjoy working. Not sitting around... watching movies... trying to stay awake all night.

I'll be working at Hays again. This time, my title is "I.T. support and software support analyst" Essentially, I'll be helping the existing I.T. Department with their duties when i have time, and supporting a massive ERP solution called Adapt. It will be my primary responsiblity. They're bringing in a new version in january, I'll have to set up the environment for it. (thankfully its all on windows) I'll gather requirements, do acceptance training, figure out what people need and make the UK alter the program as Canada requires. I will then install patches, updates, maintain etc the servers/application.

Should be fun stuff! I start Sept 29th. My last day at Sungard is SUnday the 21st... so it gives me a good week of.

Goin to bed! Back to a normal sleeping schedule.

Well... With copious amounts of time on my hands... I figured... Heck, Why not start a blog again?

So here it is! My rambling thoughts, Life status, Opinions.

Starting off... A movie I just saw!

It was "Death Race"
Overall, It was very entertaining. The plot was... um... Well. Its about a race... to the death.
Though... It was, in a crude way... Funny to a point. Sort of like joker and the dissapearing pencil.

Now... It slightly worries me that i enjoyed this movie. I'm normally the type for interesting, Plot heavy movies... Not those with gratutious violence.

And with this... I post my customary "blog" poem:
